The Orthodox Society is taking part in Oxford’s city-wide Christmas Light festival in the Ashmolean!
On Friday, 21 November, 7.40 pm, our community will be showcasing Orthodox Christmas traditions at the Ashmolean Museum as part of their Christmas Light Night event. Our program includes Russian/Ukrainian/Belarusian carols, Christmas tales translated into English, sochivo food samples and traditional costumes!
It promises to be a fantastic evening! Please come and join us for pre-Christmas fun in the Textiles Gallery! The show will be running in 20 minute intervals until 9 pm, so there will be plenty of chance for you to come and see it.
Better yet – get involved! We are still looking for more choir members to take part, so if you have an interest in singing, please sign up using this form. No previous kolyadki experience or Slavonic language knowledge is required.
Our next rehearsal is scheduled for Thursday, 20 November, 7 pm. More details and music sheets available upon registration.
