Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, metropolitan Hilarion (Alfeyev) of Volokolamsk, is visiting England this week and will deliver two public lectures in Winchester and Cambridge. Metropolitan Hilarion is a permanent member of the Commission for Theological Dialogue between the Orthodox and Roman Catholic Churches, and a member of the Central and Executive Committees of the World Council of Churches.

This is a Winchester Foundation Lecture organised by the University of Winchester. The Society is thankful to the Revd Dr Andreas Andreopoulos for the invitation.

The lecture is preceded by pan-Orthodox Vespers at St Giles Church at 4pm. The event is organised by the Divinity Faculty of the University of Cambridge, the Cambridge Theological Federation and the Institute for Orthodox Christian Studies.
